New Jersey tax dollars at work: 'Death race 2012'

GasBuddy Blog -- Two New Jersey state troopers were suspended this week for escorting a caravan of sports car enthusiasts, including former New York Giant's fullback, Brandon Jacobs, on a trip last month down the Garden State Parkway to Atlantic City. Weaving in and out of traffic, the caravan of 25 to 30 Porsches, Lamborghinis and Ferraris, with the troopers' escort, reached speeds up to 110 miles per hour in the middle of the day on Friday, March 30. Witnesses said the luxury sports cars had their license plates covered with black tape.

You can't make this up. New Jersey Attorney General Jeffrey Chiesa is now investigating.

Witnesses said they weaved in and out of lanes with no fear of arrests. Their license plates were taped over...

"I had the great pleasure today of nearly being killed by not one, but two Lamborghinis traveling in excess of 110 mph in a police-escorted caravan of approximately 30 exotic vehicles all traveling well over 100 mph." Other witnesses said the high speed caravan almost forced others off the road."

He should have let one or more of them hit him. He would have been set for life with the settlements. They would be almost infinite.

This is outlandish. The cops should all be fired, but not before getting the names from them of all the drivers who participated and charging those people with reckless driving.

if true, arrest jacobs and jail him until he drops a dime on all. Also ban for life their ability to get a drivers license. fire all troopers and their superiors involved and swipe their pensions and benefits, and ban them from all future state and federal employment.

The irony is, New Jersey is notorious for strict enforcement of the State's posted speed limits.

New Jersey, state troopers, tax dollars, fancy sports cars, excessive speeding, concealed plates and 'Death Race 2012,' what a combination! Cannonball Run!
State troopers are employed to uphold the state laws, not to escort 30 sports car enthusiasts on the Garden State Parkway in Atlantic City. And, Not to be reaching speeds of 110 MPH in the middle of the day on Friday, March 30 with traffic. The troopers and the sports car drivers are jeopardizing all other drivers with their personal safety on the state parkway with their irresponsible behavior.
Put these troopers in with the Secret Service nincompoops and start the elimination process.
Whatever the size or shape of the vehicle, Produce and ‘Drive’ vehicles with high MPG, are very reliable, have a ‘reasonable’ cost and a good ‘value’ for the money. Consider using other forms of less expensive transportation to lower your cost, if possible!
The price of fuel at the pump is too high!

Above the law? This is a joke and all involved should be prosecuted. It doesn't matter what the event they were allegedly going to.

Christy will or is jumping all over this! The officers can't take the law into their own hands like that. We simply don't have an autobahn here.
