A Look at 12 New Technologies that Could Change the Biofuel Industry (Part 1)

Oilprice.com -- As the bio-based revolution moves into the commercialization stage, new products and enabling technologies continue to surface that offer tantalizing opportunities.

In recent months, there has been so much emphasis on companies moving from the development to commercialization stages — not least companies like Solazyme, Gevo, Amyris, KiOR and Ceres going through the IPO process — that innovation-stage companies have been gaining less attention than usual.

Yet, even in an era where venture capital has been harder to come by (Why? See these 42 article links under the rubric, “The VC Model is Broken” ) — some great technologies have been getting out of the starting blocks.

Some of these companies are practically brand-spanking new – others have been flying under the radar for several years.

Some interesting ideas I have never heard of, bring those 12 New Technologies into use and see what happens to the Bio fuel Industry. Some are very good and others are......???
What will Part 2 have that is different?
Whatever the size or shape of the vehicle, Produce and ‘Drive’ vehicles with high MPG, are very safe, reliable, have a ‘reasonable’ cost and a good ‘value’ for the money. Consider using other forms of less expensive transportation to lower your cost.
The price of fuel at the pump is too high!

Still just boils down to lower fuel economy that balances out offshore oil dependance but puts our food crops into jeopardy!!!

Now they are going IPO to try and find enough fools to invest before they go bankrupt!

Wait a minnut!... how heavily are the sierra clubs, green peace and the other greenie wackos willing to invest in these companies??

Hmmmmm.....????

These new technologies have to be economically self-supporting. No big ongoing taxpayer subsidies.

I can't even stand to read the article.

I know they are all corporate start-ups founded just to take advantage of all the Obama federal taxpayer subsidies. They are all started with no new technology and are no better alternatives energy-wise or pollution-wise to waste 100's of thousands of dollars or millions that the government doesn't have.

Let the private sector take the risk, this is the most fair way.

If they can make it on their own, or with PRIVATE capital, more power to them. But NO government money (meaning OIUR money). NObama 2012.
