Five arrested in DFW gasoline-theft scheme

Star-Telegram -- Four truckers and a Fort Worth gas station owner were arrested this week in a gas-theft operation that Texas comptroller investigators say netted at least $64,000 worth of stolen fuel.

The truckers, responsible for delivering gas from fuel terminals to area Tom Thumb stations, are accused of holding back part of the fuel, then selling it at a discount to the owner of the X Trac store at 1330 Woodhaven Blvd., according to a release.

Thong Nguyen, the store's owner, bought the gas for 75 cents to $1 less per gallon than wholesale prices, the Texas comptroller's office said in a news release Friday.

Officials estimated the fuel's value based on wholesale prices but say that amount could grow as the investigation continues.
Officials estimate that 20,300 gallons were stolen.

Shorting a gas station part of their fuel delivery that they have paid for and selling it to another for less. What a scam! As long as they do not get caught, it will continue to happen.
Why is this going on and why did they not get caught earlier? Are the D&FW police escorting race cars through the city too?
Whatever the size or shape of the vehicle, Produce and ‘Drive’ vehicles with high MPG, are very reliable, have a ‘reasonable’ cost and a good ‘value’ for the money. Consider using other forms of less expensive transportation to lower your cost, if possible!
The price of fuel at the pump is too high!

Again, if the crooks would only expend the same amount of energy to productive endeavors they could be a success. Dishonesty unfortunately seems to be the lazy way to slide through life.

Those truckers were not too smart, they could've sold the "extra load" of gasoline directly to drivers and they wouldn't get caught at all.

Give them the max - 20 years, and let their asses rot in jail. I bet the prices at the X Trac station weren't 75 cents to $1 cheaper
