Great effort for them. It has worked out very well for the city of Nashua, NH that makes their NG station available to all. The city established the NG station for their own vehicles, but it is also the first in southern NH, so they wisely chose to open it to all users and lead the way.

This maybe a good idea but still not liking the idea of a county government involved...........it's behind then to make it work.

From the article: "Three sites have been targeted for the facility, which Zalak expects to be available to the public." ------------------------------------------------------------------ This might just be the wave of the future and is a common sense solution for a municipality to pursue rather than just raise taxes on their citizens who are already experiencing tough economic times. I'm hoping there are sufficient locations throughout the country who also sell to the public, so it will make LNG use more widespread and fesible.

Good idea, we just have to be a bit careful how much tax money to throw at it before the free market can vet the feasibility.

This is going in the right direction to increase the use of CNG for transportation. The price of natural gas has hit an all time low, while gasoline is about to hit an all time high. WE need more CNG stations and more CNG cars.

Makes a lot of sense - especially for public service vehicles including taxis.

When the CNG automobile is a success the fill stations will quickly follow. OR*** When the CNG fill stations are everywhere the cars will follow?

CNG is cheap now, but it is still owned by Big Oil. When the demand increases Big Oil will increase the price and gouge us just like they do now for gas/diesel. Big Oil loves our fossil addiction.

CNG is the best alternative to gas, now. BBopp is right. Joeski1 - we need to wean ourselves off of oil. CNG may be a fossil fuel, but it is abundant in America, is cost effective, and will allow us to reduce prices at the pump, as well as our cost for distribution of goods. It can give us time to find alternative sources that are cost effective for the consumer.

CNG is looking good, but who wants the elected officials of Marion County, Florida, as co-directors of the enterprise?

The auto manufacturers need to start a strong marketing campaign for CNG vehicles.

simply trading one dirty fuel for another : un-natural gas
gotta go beyond fossil fuels for the answer....
but while they're busy poisoning the water..
our lungs do get a break from diesel soot and particulate
