would be nice, but doubtful it will go low as Pig Oil has lost some of the blending subsidies, therefore, the losses will be put upon the consumer.

So why are prices predicted to be so high. Supply and demand?

The demand for fuel is down, there is much less driving, high unemployment, Barry's economy is down, fuel prices are high and gasoline demand dips to an 11 year low or lower. Big oil selling fuel and natural gas on the world market for higher prices, there will be NO price reduction for the cost of fuel or natural gas IN the US. Barry will support natural gas and oil production for sale on the world market to pay for his ‘spending gone wild’ addiction. The US ‘oil and natural gas resources’ belong to the citizens of this country and are to be used by those same citizens! Speculators, manipulators and the banks continue to unfairly and unjustly make the driving public pay higher prices at the pump for their benefit. Whatever the size or shape of the vehicle, Produce and ‘Drive’ vehicles with high MPG, are very reliable, have a ‘reasonable’ cost and a good ‘value’ for the money. Consider using other forms of less expensive transportation to lower your cost, if possible! The price of fuel at the pump is too high! 12/22/2012!

that's because no one in the 99 can afford to take their vacations or leave their home town.or if they were a little smarter than big earl they stockpiled enough to last through the summer months til prices come back down where they should be.well at least where they were before they jacked up the price of oil/products.or before the local politicians decided to jack up property taxes to cover a shortfall in their wallets, the schools, the police dep,the fire dep,the city workers pay raises.you won't see any of them stuck at home during the summer in fact they will probably be planning on a meeting in hawaii or cancun or even paris... maybe italy to discuss increasing taxes.

Saturn93-Many counties here in TN charge a wheel tax that is used for road upkeep. And those counties tend to actually have better roads!

Gas price will not drop, may be stabilize at one place and will wait for consumption to increase and then will again rise.

So, prices will go up to make up for the short-fall in profits.

Less fuel consumption means less fuel taxes collected to maintain the roads. I should also mean less traffic and fewer collisions. However, the trend to lighter fuel efficient cars means that the collisions that do occur will result in more severe injuries.

People have no extra money for gas and there is concern about their jobs. There are also plenty of people with no job prospects. No wonder there is an expected drop.

With fuel prices high and drivers switching to more economical vehicles, this is not much of a surprise. I hope the trend continues.

I believe continued reduction in gasoline consumtion, will cause a lower of gasoline prices. The speculators can't get stuck with gas as it will go bad (gas doesn't have a long "shelf life") :)

I didn't read the entire article...maybe I should've.
It is a good idea that people pull back on their useage. Of course, in places such as Texas where there is no decent public transportation for most areas, one must have a vehicle and it is often required that each adult in the home has their own vehicle because everyone goes in different directions...true, there are more motorcycles, scooters, Smart Cars, etc...but there has been a bit of a pullback on motorcycles due to recent increases in deaths...
Hopefully, people will make/take a stand and pull back when they can, buy the vehicles that are economical, etc...yes, we need to find our fun closer to home...maybe even a job closer to home...and then there are those who are in the unfortunate position of not having a job to go to daily, etc....but, guess they have to go out on interviews, etc. (SIGH) Well it seems these darn oil companies have us, don't they....or do they.
Hey, I live in an OIL state and in an area where there are refineries almost everywhere you look...but...I've been one of those who have tried to get their attention for decades to redirect their attentions. Ummmmm...you know, make it better for one and all...including the air, the earth and the waterways. But, I am a Texan and like anyone, I am loyal to my state, home. We have our problems like all the rest. (smile)
